"During morning practice I was quite slow. The track was very dirty and after 4th lap's spun I preferred be calm. In the afternoon, I had just gone out of the box and I was driving in my line, when Frentzen came into my car: I saw him in the mirror, he was far away, I think he braked late and the tarmac, here and there was still wet, tripped him up. I believe that if I hadn't been there, he would have gone out the same. As far as friendliness demonstration I received are concerned, it was a great honour having the wishes of President Menem. Reutemann's visit was a surprise: for me Carlos was always a legend, even if when he retired I was just 2 years old."

Квалификация (суббота):
"I made my best time in the first part of qualifying, even though I had decided to wait and go out in the last 15 minutes to make a better performance, because I felt more focused. In fact on lap 9 I had to stop for a weight check, and this broke my rhythm. I feel I could be quicker but I didn't want to take any risk also because during practice I had some understeer problems. I feel ready for tomorrow's Grand Prix and I want to leave a good souvenir to all the Argentinean fans who came to watch my race."

"I am deeply sorry because I didn't finish this grand Prix. Moreover it was my mistake that I went off the track, when just 9 laps were missing. I also had to go to the box much earlier than scheduled, for I had damaged a tyre just before the pit lane entrance: I took it without advising the mechanics that I was arriving and this unforseen change of program, caused lots of problems, of course. Moreover I was late in opening the gas door, and this made my pit-stop even more difficult."
