Preview:
"This is a very important race for me and for Ferrari, as it is on our home track just a short distance from Maranello. I am looking forward to racing in Italy again. The tifosi put us under some extra pressure, but their support is probably worth half a second per lap. Imola is a great circuit and in my opinion the safety changes have improved it as the two extra chicanes are fast and have added something to the track. It is more of a challenge than before and Ferrari should be more competitive here, closing on McLaren and pulling away from the rest. Last year I was third but I think it will be very difficult to get another podium. The track is very hard on the cars; brakes, transmission and even the driver suffers. It is a classic track."

"It is great to be back in Italy racing in front of our fans. I am reasonably happy with the car. I never had a run on new soft tyres and if I had I am sure I could have got a better time. There is still some set-up work to do, because at the moment we can either get the car well balanced but bad over the bumps or the other way around. We had some concerns over the brakes but we have resolved them now. As for the new wings, I like them."

Квалификация (суббота):
"If I had managed to get a good lap early in the session then I could have risked pushing harder at the end. All the same, I am very happy with fourth and it certainly relieves the pressure here at home! Strategy will be very important and we must work tonight on seeing how we can out-manoeuvre those in front. This is the best I could have done, as I was having problems in the first section. With both Ferraris on the second row, we can certainly put pressure on the McLarens in the race. Our main problem will be with the tyres and it would be nice to have some clouds tomorrow."

"At the start Jacques beat me off the line and he was quite quick at first, but then I was able to catch him easily. The boys did a great job in the pit-stop and I was able to build up a gap. But then I lost the rear end braking for the first chicane, which cost me four seconds and Jacques caught me again. The second stop, which I made early, was also very good and from then on I was bale to manage the gap. I thought he might catch me but I knew he would not get past. My big problem is still with my back which goes into spasm after about five laps. It was uncomfortable and distracting."
