Свободные заезды (пятница):
"This is a great result and the most encouraging Friday performance all season. It
is great to see my name in the top three again! There seems to be something inherently
good about the Jordan car at Hockenheim, as it ran very well here last year. I used new
tyres on the last lap, but even without that we were running well. Goodyear have come here
with a good tyre for us, and that combined with the improvements on the car and the
improvements made to the engine by Honda have made us very competitive. We will run a new
engine tomorrow (E spec engine) for qualifying and I am looking forward to that. We are
knocking on the door of being a regular top six runner again which is key. We just have to
make sure this trend continues. I have reason to believe this could be our strongest
qualifying of the year."

"I am very pleased with the performance today. Part of me had hoped for more, but
I think we have to be pleased with what we got. To see both cars right up there in the top
six, well in touch with the class of the field (McLaren) is great. The new Honda E spec
engine really helped and the car ran very well. It will be a tough race as this circuit is
punishing, but our reliability has improved and we have the potential to win points. We
showed in Austria that the engine was very reliable, and we will run the same engine
tomorrow so I am confident we will not have any problems."

"This is more like the races I have been used to - it was what I call a proper
motor race, with people to chase and people to try and keep behind me. The team did a
fantastic job by keeping me informed as to what was going on during the race and choosing
the right strategy. It was great to be able to hold off Michael who at one stage was
catching up worryingly fast, but there is nothing like the inspiration of wanting to hold
on to fourth place to keep you going. The car was good and we were able to push.
Mugen-Honda helped us enormously with the reliability. This is now three races in a row in
which the team has scored points and the car is improving all the time, so I expect this
trend to continue. I was not able to compete with Jacques, but there were other
competitive cars we beat fair and square, so I think we have done ourselves proud."
