"I'm certain that I'll be much more in control on the slow part of the circuit. Generally, Olivier and I succeed in bringing the Prost-Peugeot cars up the peak of their performance quite quickly during the Grand Prix trials sessions. But then we plateau during the qualifying round, while other teams continue to progress. So, given the lessons we have already learned this season, I am cautious about hazarding a guess as to where we'll finish up on the starting grid this Sunday - even if the extra power generated by the Peugeot Evolution-4 engine can make a lot of difference on a fast circuit such as Hockenheim. On the other hand, I am very optimistic about the race itself, with just one reservation. If you reduce the aerodynamic resistance of the F1 cars, they'll skid a lot more on the stadium section. This won't make the job any easier for Olivier and me since the Prost AP cars are already prone to tailswing."

"We have worked very hard today. But we have lost some of our performance compared to yesterday. Despite trying out different mechanical and aerodynamic adjustments, we couldn't seem to overcome the problem of lack of grip and poor traction."

"I am very happy for the team that both cars finished together. The problem that I ran up against today is the same as I had yesterday: there is a serious lack of grip and traction. My lap times during the race showed hardly any improvement - whether at the beginning of the race when I had a full tank of fuel and new tyres, or at the end of the race when I had an empty tank and the tyres were worn."
