"It has been an encouraging day for us after the recent weeks we have experienced. We knew we had great potential, but we were unable to exploit it, because of the reliability problems we encountered. A good day for us, the result of the constant efforts and confidence of the team. We know we are going in the right direction."

 ():
"We are better placed on the grid than in Melbourne. We have been able to show that we really have made progress. This is truly very encouraging and certainly gives the whole team pleasure. It is this which pleases me most. We still have a lot of work to accomplish, but I am sure that the Prost Peugeot AP01 is competive and that very soon we will be demonstrating this. A hydraulic problem in the gearbox caused me to miss part of the first free practice this morning. I would have liked to try other set-ups, but it is the race tomorrow on which we must concentrate and to continue to make progress race after race. For me, it would be fantastic to score one or two points if we finish."

 ():
"I had an average start. At the beginning of the race, I was able to maintain a rhythm even though the car was difficult to drive. We wanted to finish the race and that is why it is so frustating to have to stop for a minor problem just nine laps from the end: the loss of the oil cap for the gearbox. What is important is to note the step forward we have achieved this weekend. Now we have to go on working."
