Preview:
"We did some good testing at Silverstone on Monday. It gave me a chance to become
more familiar with the new car and I was able to work with the engineers to have a better
understanding of how to set the chassis up. Once again, the Ford V10 engine was very
reliable and allowed us to run through our full programme for the day without any
problems. As a result, I am hopeful that I can put in a strong performance in Brazil in
front of my home fans."
Saturday Qualifying:
"I'm obviously disappointed by the fact I wasn't able to secure a better grid
position, but this is a very difficult circuit, particularly because of the very bumpy
surface. Now what I must do is concentrate on having a good race. Seventy-two laps of this
place is a lot of racing, and if I race well, we have good pit stops and avoid any
problems, I think there is a chance to get a good finish."
Sunday Race:
"Like Tora, my race had been going according to plan. I got away well, made both
stops for fuel and tyres without incident, and was preparing to push hard to the finish of
the race when I found I couldn't select gears, the car spun and the engine stalled. I
would have liked to put in a good performance in front of my home fans here in Brazil, but
this time it wasn't possible. I did drive enough laps today, however, to know that the car
feels good in race trim, so feel optimistic about the prospects for the rest of the
season."
