"Today I completed 51 laps, which was very useful to gain confidence with this circuit, it is my first time here and I really like it. You have to work a lot with brakes on this track to establish the best point where to brake and I think the best way to reach this is by lapping as many times as possible. This morning we worked a lot on weight balance and we preferred keeping the car heavy to have more grip, in fact, with a higher load, I felt more confident because the track was dirty and here and there, even wet. Later, when we were getting closer and closer to the best balance, we made it a bit lighter and I managed to make better times, mostly on straight parts."

"Both, this morning in free practice and in qualifying, my car had no problem. Also today we tried several new aerodynamic solutions to define the best set-up for tomorrow's race. I can say that I know quite well the track, by now (in free practice, Alesi and me were the drivers who ran more, with 33 laps) and I feel ready to face it for tomorrow's race: this morning's spin is a... usual accident. Now I ran at high speed at every turn even those where I didn't feel confident before. Yesterday and today we collected much information and we are close to defining, more or less, the race strategy."

"It was no easy race. My first start - which was cancelled by the red flag - was quite good but on the second start I lost some positions. I immediately got a good pace and for a while I was even able to keep Wurz behind me. I was forced into an unplanned pit-stop when Villeneuve, coming back onto the track after touching Fisichella, came across me and broke my front wing. With a little more luck I could have finished the race in 9th position."
