Свободные заезды (пятница):
"I am happy with our work today. We evaluated Goodyear's Option and Prime tyres and also did some running with race fuel loads. Initially, the chassis had a lot of understeer, but we made progress with the set-up and by the end of the afternoon session, it was a lot better. I am familiar with the Nevers circuit because Tyrrell has tested here several times this year and I am confident we will be able to set a good time tomorrow."

Квалификация (суббота):
"I am disappointed by today's result. The session obviously didn't start very well when the engine in my car suffered a major mechanical failure. The team was able to prepare the spare car very quickly, but it was fitted with the less powerful P7 specification engine. I drove as hard as I could in the laps remaining, but I just couldn't set the sort of time I think we could have achieved around here in ideal circumstances."

"It's disappointing to be forced out of any race by engine problems, but in many ways I am pleased by our performance this weekend. The engineers helped me find a good chassis set-up for the race and it paid off. At one point, I was as high as 13th place without the benefit of retirements by other drivers, and I was able to race competitively with (Mika) Salo and (Pedro) Diniz. We had planned a three-stop strategy for fuel and tyres and that also worked well. Unfortunately, with about seven laps remaining in the race, I heard some strange noises from the engine and started to slow. As I downshifted, the engine just let go. After that, there was some very hot water spraying on me from somewhere and I just got out of the car as quickly as I could."
