Свободные заезды (пятница):
"We made reasonable progress today, but it would be nice to have a little more
grip from the track. Hopefully, the situation will improve and we can get down to
fine-tuning the handling tomorrow. The back-to-back runs we did with Goodyear's tyres were
rather inconclusive and I had one slight trip off the circuit trying a little too hard.
All being well, I think we should improve tomorrow."
Квалификация (суббота):
"It was a very difficult afternoon. I was caught out by the puddles and the
changing surface camber at Turn One on my first run out of the pits and punctured a rear
tyre as a result. I returned to the pits and after the mechanics had checked my car over,
we went back out for a longer run in the hope that the track would begin to dry. Late in
the session it did and the team called me in for a change to intermediate tyres. That
allowed me to improve my time slightly, but not as much as I felt we could have. Still, I
think we have come up with a good set-up for the race so I will be hoping for dry weather
tomorrow."

"Olivier Panis stalled his Prost in front of me on the grid as the red lights went
out and in order to get around him and avoid the other cars on the start, I moved to the
right, up close to the pit wall. I then got good traction and caught up with a group of
other cars, still on the inside line. Unfortunately the line was very dirty and when I hit
the brakes, the back end of the car snapped away from me and I spun off the circuit. It's
a shame because the car felt really good in dry weather race trim during the warm-up and I
had high hopes for a good result."
