Preview:
"After Spa, it is great to come to another fast and challenging circuit so soon. Monza is a great place and the tifosi are something else. Like Hockenheim, Monza's long, fast straights should result in the 1998 cars achieving quicker lap times than last year."

Свободные заезды (пятница):
"The test last week prepared us for the weekend up to a certain point, but the circuit always changes and there is still some work to be done to establish the right race set up. The rain during the second session curtailed my running for the day but I am in a good frame of mind for the weekend and I am looking forward to running tomorrow."

Квалификация (суббота):
"I think we were subject to the difficult circumstances today ' along with everyone else. The very difficult track conditions meant that I was not fully confident in the car when I went out and it took me a short while before I was ready to go flat out. However, although it is disappointing not to be on the front row of the grid, tomorrow's race is another story. We have a very good car and I am looking forward to the race."

Гонка (воскресение):
"This race was especially disappointing because I experienced a brake problem in the last phase of the race, with seven laps to go, which was the reason for my high speed spin - I was lucky to come out of that without stalling. Whilst I was spinning I was thinking 'this will mean zero points', but fortunately I managed to keep going and score three points. Up to that point I was competitive and on my second set of tyres I was reeling in Michael. Now I am looking ahead to the final two races and I am confident that we will do a much better job at the home Grands Prix of Mercedes and Bridgestone in Germany and Japan. I am still very positive and will fight to win the championship."
